Dear Parishioners of St Peter’s and of St Mary’s
Fr Tad has served you diligently for 7 years. He has now been asked by me to take on a new mission in Aberdeen. He will therefore be leaving you at the end of January. I know you will want to join me in thanking him warmly for all he has been and done for you over these years. I also want to join him in thanking you for all the support you have given him during that time. It has been a good partnership.
What about the future? As you know the Moray Deanery of St John Ogilvie has built up a strong spirit of cooperation over the last few years. Thanks to this and thanks to some new priests within the Deanery, it will be possible to continue this in relation to the parishes of Buckie and Fochabers. It is difficult to spell out all the details of this immediately. The Sunday Masses, however, including the Vigil Masses, will continue as usual. Fr Colin Stewart, the Dean, will be on hand for any pastoral needs and can always be contacted. He will himself come to the parishes in February to clarify and give more information regarding the new arrangements.
You will be sad to lose Fr Tad, but I am confident that “together in Christ”, with God’s help, all will be well and a good future take shape.
May I wish you all a Christ-filled Christmas,
Yours devotedly in Christ,
+ Hugh OSB
